The device (1) has a reduction catalyst device (3) including a catalyst for accelerating reduction of a component of an exhaust gas using a reducing agent. An electricity discharging device (4) is arranged corresponding to the device (3), at a downstream side in a direction of flow of the gas, to discharge electricity. An ammonia concentration sensor (5) detects concentration of the reducing agent flowing out from the device (3). An electronic control device (6) controls electricity discharged from the device (4) in correlation with the detected concentration. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling emission of a power machine. Emission control device for cleaning an exhaust gas of a prime mover. The device eliminates a component of the exhaust gas using the reducing agent, and allows oxidation of a non-reacting reduction unit regardless of the temperature of the exhaust gas.
