PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction channel for a fiber bundling device installed on the downstream of a draft device for staple fiber strands, including a base body having a tubular shape, whose external contour includes a slide surface for an air permeable conveying belt, and having reduced energy consumption. SOLUTION: The suction channel essentially extends in surrounding directions of the base body and includes at least one suction slit bordered with two side edges. Solely one of the two side edges is designed as the edge of a fiber guide, the edge of the fiber guide includes at least two regions having different inclination angles in the surrounding directions of the base body and the suction slit has an essentially constant width along the edge of the fiber guide.
