PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent for a liquid detergent composition hardly damaging plastics in relation to the solvent for the liquid detergent composition for a bathroom, around a kitchen, for a house, etc. SOLUTION: Alkyl ether carboxylic amide alcohols are used as the solvent for the liquid detergent. The liquid detergent composition which gives no damage to plastics, particularly to acrylic resins, applied many to the bathroom, the kitchen and around a house, has a high ability to solubilize a surfactant and is uniformly formulated, is obtained therefrom.
