PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coke-pushing apparatus capable of firstly smoothly pushing coke by linearly accelerating a pushing ram and secondly carrying out cleaning, repairing etc. of a carbonization chamber before causing trouble. SOLUTION: The coke-pushing apparatus is equipped with the pushing ram 20 for pushing coke 1 carbonized in the carbonization chamber 10 to the outside of the carbonization chamber 10 with a pushing plate 21 having the nearly same width as that of the carbonization chamber 10 of a coke oven and an invertor motor 30 for linearly moving the pushing ram 20 with pushing torque according to the pushing load applied to the pushing plate 21 of the pushing ram 20. The coke-pushing apparatus is provided with a torque calculating means 41 for calculating the pushing torque of the invertor motor 30 from the frequency and a comparison means 43 for making a comparison whether or not the calculated torque exceeds a protection value of the preset pushing torque.
