PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of retaining the durability of the tire and of reducing road noise in a mid-frequency area. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic radial tire 1, both end portions of a carcass layer 4 arranged between a pair of right and left bead portions 2 are respectively turned back from the inside of the tire to the outside around a bead core 5, while belt layers 8 are allocated on the circumferential side of the carcass layer 4. Further, the turn-back portion 4a of the carcass layer 4 is extended to a buttress portion 9 and the end portion of the turn-back portion 4a is bent on the buttress portion 9 so as to be inclined toward the tire circumferential direction, thereby intersecting the cord 3a of a bending area 12 with the cord 3 of the carcass layer 4 body.
