PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which prevents excessive abnormality detection by carrying out suitable image quality inspection conformed to an image quality required for a recording medium while a remarkable decrease in image recording speed is avoided, and moreover which attains miniaturization and cost reduction, and to provide a program for image quality judgment by the apparatus. SOLUTION: The recording medium 8 is pulled out among a plurality of recording media 8 which are sequentially conveyed by a first medium conveyance part 3 and subjected to image recording. The recording medium 8 is returned to the side of a medium supply part 1 through a second medium conveyance part 6 for double-sided printing. When the recording medium 8 is conveyed again by the first medium conveyance part 3, an image of the recording medium 8 is read by a medium detecting part 12, and a quality of the read image is judged by a quality judging part 39.
