RAILCAR SIDE BEARING ASSEMBLY

The present disclosure relates to a side bearing assembly adapted to be accommodated within a generally rectangular receptacle having a pair of generally parallel and spaced side walls and a pair of generally parallel and spaced end walls, the receptacle being fixedly secured on an upper surface of a railcar bolster. The side bearing assembly includes a rubber spring including an insert having a through hole and first and second bases having a pair of spaced side walls and a pair of spaced end walls, the base defining a cavity for accommodating the rubber spring, and first and second elongated spacers. The bases are positioned within the receptacle so that the end walls of each base are adjacent each other, the first and second spacers being positioned between the adjacent ends walls, and the first spacer is fastened to the second spacer for positioning and securing the pair of bases within the receptacle.
