A device which is movable along an object surface while closely contacting the object surface existing in liquid, and comprises a main casing provided with an outside casing and an inside casing; an outside seal member attached to the opening of the outside casing and partly contacting the object surface; an inside seal member attached to the opening of the inside casing and partly contacting the object surface; and a means that keeps the distance between the main casing and the object surface at an appropriate one and can move along the object surface, characterized in that the outside casing, the outside seal member, and the inside seal member define a first region (11) in collaboration with the object surface, and a second region (12) defined by the inside casing and the inside seal member in collaboration with the object surface is provided, the pressure of fluid in the first region (11) being kept lower than the pressure of fluid surrounding the device, the pressure of fluid in the second region (12) being kept higher than the pressure of fluid in the first region (11).
