PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device, an illumination device, a monitor device, an image display device, and a projector capable of reducing generation of scintillation. SOLUTION: The light source device can emit laser beams at different wavelengths ofλ1 toλ4 from different positions of wavelength selective elements. Thereby, the position of interference is shifted with time and interference is equalized over the whole laser beams. Moreover, the device can emit laser beam so as to alternately repeat a state 1 and a state 2. Thereby, the position of interference is also shifted with time, and the interference is equalized over the whole laser beams.
