PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deviation in a use frequency among nozzles for specific ink or deviation in a recording rate between scanning operations (paths) by varying the scanning operation for applying the specific ink depending on a superposed condition between the specific ink and non-specific ink. SOLUTION: A scanning operation for applying specific ink is determined based on applying amount information of the specific ink and nonspecific ink. For example, with regard to a unit pixel in which the ratio of the nonspecific ink to the specific ink is higher than a prescribed one, the scanning operation for applying the specific ink is determined such that the ratio of the specific ink applied in the later part of the plurality of scanning operations is made greater than that in the unit pixel in which the applying ratio of the nonspecific ink to the specific ink is lower than the prescribed ratio.
