PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability for switching spindle rotation speed in a power tool capable of switching the rotation speed of a spindle at three stages by making use of a planetary gear mechanism. SOLUTION: In the power tool having the planetary gear reduction mechanism 8, a speed switching section 26 is slidably operated among a first speed change position for regulating rotation of a first internal gear 20, a second speed change position for regulating rotation of a second internal gear 19, and a third speed change position where the first and second internal gears 20 and 19 are integrally rotated by combining both internal gears. A carrier 11 is rotated on the first speed change position at low speed, the carrier 11 is rotated on the second speed change position at medium speed, and the carrier 11 is rotated on the third speed change position at high speed. In the speed switching section 26, the first speed change position is arranged at one end side in the slidably-operating direction, the second speed change position is arranged at the other end side, and the third speed change position is arranged in the middle of the first and second speed change positions.
