PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a high efficiency and a high speed by reducing a temporary stop time of the image forming operation, and to improve the productivity.

SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus which registers jobs in the order of reception and carries out an image forming processing and a post processing to a recording medium according to contents of the registered job, a time required for the post processing of the job being executed and a time required for the image forming processing of a second job are compared with each other. The image forming apparatus carries out image forming processing of the second job according to the comparison result while the post processing of the job being executed is carried out after the image forming processing of the job being executed is finished.
