<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sugar-coating food made by covering a food to be a central layer with a sugar-coating layer, having smoothness and crunchy properties, and deliciously harmonized in sweetness and saltiness, and to provide a method for producing the sugar-coating food. <P>SOLUTION: This sugar-coating food whose central layer is covered with a sugar-coating layer is obtained by forming on the surface of the central layer, a sugar-coating layer which has as the main ingredient, at least one kind saccharide selected from the group consisting of trehalose, lactitol, erythritol, and reduced paratinose, and forming on the surface of the central layer, at least 3 coating layers through multilayeredly forming on the surface of the sugar-coating layer, a layer containing hygroscopic salts and a sugar-coating layer having the same main ingredient as that of the sugar-coating layer in a condition of alternately superposing on each other.
