<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-electrode assembly having high power generation performance even at high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst electrode for a fuel cell including a catalyst, a catalyst carrier, ionic liquid, and an immobilizing agent has a gas passage. An electron conducting path is formed in the catalyst electrode with the catalyst carrier, and a proton conducting path is formed with an electrolyte on the catalyst carrier.
