<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the PIM Register transmitting load of a packet relay device which accommodates a multicast transmission terminal by a general-purpose and convenient means when communication between a First-Hop Router which accommodates the multicast transmission terminal and a RP (Rendezvous-Point) is unstable in a PIM-SM (Protocol Independent Multicast Sparse-Mode) network. <P>SOLUTION: In the First-Hop Router, PIM Register transmission to an unstable RP is suppressed by monitoring RP reachability by a reachability monitoring part 230, storing the number of times that response time is taken over fixed time in an RP management table 222 and avoiding selection of an RP whose reachability from the First-Hop Router is unstable by RP selection processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
