PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit with an organic electroluminescent element that has achieved all of high brightness, high light emission efficiency and durability, particularly in blue luminance, and a display unit with high emission luminance and excellent durability using the same. SOLUTION: The organic EL element has a light-emitting layer containing a host compound and a phosphorescent compound, and contains a cyclophane compound expressed by the following general formula 1: (general formula 1) in the light-emitting layer as the host compound.
