PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an optical disk drive which can shorten adjusting processing time of the spherical aberration correction amount and its control method. SOLUTION: An optical disk drive is provided with a spherical aberration correction section which corrects spherical aberration on an optical disk of an optical beam, and a tracking control section which performs tracking control based on a tracking error signal. In adjusting of the spherical aberration correction amount by the spherical aberration correction section, the spherical aberration section holds a tracking error signal just before changing the spherical aberration correction amount, performs tracking control based on the held tracking error signal concerned while the spherical aberration correction section changes the spherical aberration correction amount, or moves scanning location of the optical beam on the optical disk to a predetermined track while the spherical aberration correction section changes the spherical aberration correction amount.
