PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire tread that achieves the improvement of the gripping performance and remarkable improvements in blow resistance and wear resistance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the tire tread comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a diene rubber component containing 10-30 pts.wt. of a natural rubber and≥50 pts.wt. of a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of≥-60°C and <-35°C, (B) 20-80 pts.wt. of a tackifier resin having a softening point of 80-150°C, and (C) 80-150 pts.wt. of a carbon black having a nitrogen absorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA) of≥250 m<SP>2</SP>/g.
