<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which in a simple configuration correctly checks whether the grid requires contamination cleaning in a scorotron system for removing the charges of the toner pattern formed in the primary transfer on the intermediate transcript and cleans it, if necessary, to make a stabilized secondary transfer. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming device has a controller to check whether the grid requires contamination cleaning based on the potential ratio before and after removing the toner pattern charges on the intermediate transcript and to clean the grid, if necessary, by operating the cleaner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
