PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermo-sensitive recording paper which enables two-color development recording with a thermal head having a single heat amount.

SOLUTION: The thermal recording paper is used in the recording method wherein an upper sheet and a bottom sheet are combined, and heat is applied onto the upper sheet, thereby enabling two-color development with a thermal head having a single heat amount. The upper surface of the upper sheet includes a thermal recording layer containing a leuco dye and a developer, a black color leuco dye being applied only on parts of the undersurface of the upper sheet in contact with the bottom sheet needing black color development, the upper surface of the bottom sheet having a thermal development layer including a developer and a leuco dye of other color than black color formed on the entire surface of the parts needing recording.
