PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor that rotationally drives a recording medium, such as microminiature disk, while making higher accuracy of mechanical accuracy compatible with connection of a high-reliability small-diameter coil. SOLUTION: A brushless motor has a configuration, wherein a metal terminal 11 is composed so that a plurality of terminal pieces are arranged radially and are coupled by a coupling member on their inner-peripheral side; each terminal piece of the metal terminal is held overlapped on the surface of each salient pole of a stator core 9; then the coupling member is cut and removed to attain electrical insulation between each terminal piece and the other terminal pieces; each coil 10 is wound around, while bundling each salient pole and each terminal piece being bundled; the terminal of each coil 10 is connected to the terminal piece; a winding assembly is press-fitted into a housing 6 of a motor base, made of a metallic material; each notched part 33 is formed at the inside diameter of the stator core 9; the coupling member of the terminal 11 is cut at each notched part 33; and an air gap 34 is formed between the terminal 11 and the housing 6 so as to prevent the terminal 11 from contacting the housing 6.
