PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating fluorine-containing water, in each of which the total amount of a calcium compound to be reacted with fluorine, a neutralizing agent and chemicals to be used can be reduced. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating fluorine-containing water, in which fluorine is removed from the fluorine-containing water, is provided with: a reaction tank 1 in which the fluorine-containing water is reacted with a calcium-containing substance; a precipitation tank 2 in which gas-liquid separation is performed; and a flow passage 3 by which the reaction tank is connected to the precipitation tank. The reaction tank 1 has a calcium throw-in means 4 provided with a slaked lime throw-in part 5, a chemical throw-in part 6 for throwing a neutral calcium-containing chemical and a mixing/diluting tank 7. In the mixing/diluting tank 7, slaked lime is mixed with the neutral calcium-containing chemical by a fixed mixing ratio and the obtained mixture is diluted to obtain the calcium-containing substance.
