PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bobbin thread tension regulator which can regulate tension of bobbin thread by simple configuration even a shuttle body rattles. SOLUTION: In the bobbin thread tension regulator 1 includes a bobbin thread tension giving part 2 which is provided on the outer periphery of a bobbin case 13 and gives tension to bobbin thread by putting the bobbin thread between the periphery face of a bobbin case and the bobbin thread tension giving part 2, a tension regulating screw 3 which regulates tension to be given to the bobbin thread by the bobbin thread tension giving part 2, an engaging part 4 which is formed to be engageable with the tension regulating screw 3 so as to rotate the tension regulating screw 3, a moving means 6 which makes the engaging part 4 capable of moving back/forth between an engaging position wherein the engaging part 4 engages with the tension regulating screw 3 and a stand-by position separate from the engaging position, and rotation drive means 5 which rotates the engaging part 4 when the engaging part 4 engages with the tension regulating screw 3, a pressing mechanism 8 which abuts on at least one of a shuttle 12 and the bobbin case to press at least one of the shuttle 12 and the bobbin case in the rotation direction before the engaging part 4 approaches and engages with the tension regulating screw 3, is provided.
