The insulating body (1) has an open pore evacuated core (2) fully covered by a foil (9) with two surface areas (3,4) running along mutually parallel levels. The identical surface has breadth and each has border area (5), where the edge area is not overlapped by the other surface area. Identical surface is designed to create cross-sectional profile in the border area such that a central, diametrically opposite front side (6) is asymmetric with cross-section, has differentiable profile, through the covering foil relative to a mid-perpendicular to the panel base area. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of an insulating body.
