The wheel has a pneumatic tire (10) attached to a standard wheel rim (5). A run flat support body (1) has a dished, ring-shaped body (4) as a run flat surface for supporting the tire in the event that the tire is damaged. The body is arranged in an inner surface of the pneumatic tire at a distance from the inner layer of the tire. The body (4) has ring-shaped support units (2a,2b) at its axial outer edge areas, where the units support the body on the rim. The body (4) has a cylindrical shape. The body (4) and the unit are produced from same material e.g. elastomer.
