An optical connector (1) connects a connecting object (10) to an optical module (21). A slider (3) is slidably held to a housing (2) which aligns the connecting object and the optical module. The housing is provided with a fi rst aligning section for receiving the connecting object. The slider is prov ided with a first pressing section (3a) for elastically pressing the connect ing object in a first direction toward the first aligning section, and a sec ond pressing section (3e) which elastically operates in a second direction o rthogonally intersecting with the first direction.
