A filter and a plasma display device using the same are provided to increase a dark/bright contrast of the display device by arranging an external beam blocking sheet in front of a display panel. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel), EMI(ElectroMagnetic Interference) shielding sheets(1320,1430), and an external beam blocking sheet. The EMI shielding sheet is arranged in front of the PDP and shields an EMI from the PDP. At least three thin films(1321,1322,1323) are laminated to form the EMI shielding sheet. The external beam blocking sheet is arranged in front of the panel to be parallel to the EMI shielding sheet. The external beam blocking sheet includes a base portion and a pattern portion. A groove is formed on the base portion. The pattern portion is formed on the groove and has a refractive index different from the base portion. A thickness of the external beam blocking sheet is 1.01 to 2.25 times greater than a height of the pattern portion.
