Night vision system, in particular for a vehicle and method for producing a night vision image

The system (4) has an infrared-lighting device for transmission of infrared-radiation in a recording area. An imager-chip (6) and an imager-camera have imager pixels (Bij) for receiving of infrared-radiation reflected from the receiving area and outputting of image signals (bij). A photo mixer detector (PMD)-camera and PMD-cells are provided for determining base range by runtime measurement of the infrared-radiation. The infrared-lighting device transmits the infrared-radiation both for the imager-camera, imager-chip, PMD-camera and the PMD-cells. An independent claim is also included for a method of recording of images using a camera system.
