<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing method capable of automatically changing setting relating to the acquisition of information and easily acquiring the information, and its device. <P>SOLUTION: The controller 21 of a center 20 judges whether or not the contract contents of a content information providing service are changed. Then, when the contract contents are changed, the controller 21 transmits contract change information to information terminal equipment 10. In acquiring the contract change information transmitted from the center 20, the information terminal equipment 10 automatically changes voice recognition dictionary data stored in the voice recognition database 14a of an external memory 14 so as to be utilized. Also, the information terminal equipment 10 can recognize the instruction contents of a user voice-inputted from a voice recognition unit 16 by utilizing the voice recognition dictionary data changed so as to be utilized.
