A dust collecting and filtering apparatus for removing smoke is provided to purify smoke containing water or smell suitably, obtain very high dust collecting and filtering efficiency by supplying chemicals onto surfaces of bag filters, and extend life of the bag filters by reducing the number of ejection of compressed air onto the bag filters, and a method for filtering smoke using the same is provided. A dust collecting and filtering apparatus for removing smoke comprises: a body(1) having an inlet(2) formed on one side thereof and an outlet(3) formed on the other side thereof; a plurality of bag filters(5) arranged in the gravity direction within the body; a blow pipe(4) which is installed above the bag filters and includes a plurality of nozzles(41) formed above the plurality of bag filters to eject compressed air generated from a compression tank(42) into the bag filters through the nozzles; a blower(31) connected to the outlet on an outer portion of the body; and a dust tank(7) installed in a lower part of the body, wherein a chemical supply pipe(24) connected to a chemical storage tank(23) in which chemicals(8) are stored is installed on one side of the inlet, a smoke inflow side damper(21) is installed in the inlet, and a chemical supply side damper(22) is installed in the chemical supply pipe. Further, a hopper(6) is installed at an upper part of the dust tank and a rotary valve(61) is installed at a lower part of the hopper.
