A single bearing reel for a fishing rod is provided to facilitate establishing a handle on a spool securing thumbing space. A single bearing reel for a fishing rod comprises: a main body of reel(1) established on a fishing rod; a spool axis(2) fixed on the main body of reel; a spool(3) which comprises a boss part(17) rotatably established on the spool axis, a thread winding body part(15) with an indented part, a disc shaped connective part(18), the first flange(16a) with a diameter lager than the thread winding body part, and the second flange(16b) with a diameter larger than the thread winding body part; a handle(8) establishing member fixed on the indented part; and a handle(7) established on a hem part of the first flange side, which is able to rotate along with the axis direction parallel to that of the spool axis. |
