The layer has a first material in volume regions of the fibers with their surface covered in a second material. The volume regions may be in the form of cores (1) of a first material. The jacket (2) covering their surface is of a second material. The volume regions should be at least 80% covered by the jacket. The fibers comprise at least 30 wt.% of the whole.
