PERMANENT CASTING MOULD AND CASTING MOULD INSERT

The durable mold for light metal castings, especially cylinder heads, has at least one mold body (1) with a hollow zone (H). A holder (3) is shaped in the wall defining the hollow casting zone with a shoulder (3a) to support the mold insert. The upper side (2b) of a cold mold gives a seating for the mold insert body (2a) with play (ds) in the hollow zone. A support collar (2h) extends over a fraction (hs) of the mold body height (hg) to give a positive fit for the shoulder. There is a space (3c) between the base (2j) of the mold insert body and the bottom of the holder with a height (tg) to allow for expansion when the molten metal is poured into a cold mold.
