APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RELAY IN CODEBOOK BASED MULTIPLE ANNTENA SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for relay in a codebook based multiple antenna system are provided to transmit a codebook index by using a feedback control channel and a transmission control channel in a spatial multiplexing system. A codebook based multiple antenna system comprises a base station(100), a repeater(102) and a terminal(104). Each node has three transmitting antennas and two receiving antenna. The terminal and the base station transmit and receive data through the repeater. A spatial multiplexing method is applied to the links between the base station and the repeater, and between the repeater and terminal. The base station, the repeater and the terminal have precoding matrices information for forming a beamforming respectively, and if a limit feedback passage exists between the repeater and base station and between the terminal and repeater, wherein, the precoding matrices means the codebook, and the precoding matrix to be used between the repeater and terminal, and between the base station and the repeater is determined through index exchange of the precoding matrices.
