Overload detection system

The system has a detection device for detecting or determining a vehicle mass, and a central electronics (1) provided with a signal corresponding to the determined vehicle mass. An optical display is controlled by a detected mass value for optical representation of a mass maximum value. The electronics has a memory for storing information of exceeding the mass maximum value as well as of an acknowledgement signal of a manually actuatable acknowledgement switch (6). The detection device is a sensor system (3) for determining an axle load of a motor vehicle.
