A power supply device and a communication apparatus are provided to perform a stable processing operation by supplying sufficient power to a processing apparatus even in sudden increase of a processing data quantity. A power supply device includes a supply unit(223A), a load estimating unit, and a power control unit(224_3). The supply unit supplies power to a processing apparatus(221A) which processes data and outputs processing results. The load estimating unit estimates processing load of the processing apparatus after the current point of time based on processing load of the processing apparatus before the current point of time. The power control unit increases or decreases power supply of the supply unit according to a size of the load estimated in the load estimating unit.
