402,273. Moulds for chocolates &c. ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS A. SAVY, JEANJEAN, ET CIE, Avenue Dubonnet, Courbevoie, Seine, France, and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd., Willesden Works, Hythe Road, Willesden, London. Jan. 30, 1933, No. 2923. Convention date, March 16, 1932. [Class 87 (ii).] A composite mould element adapted to slide into a guide 4 carried by or forming part of an endless conveyer of a continuous casting machine for chocolate or other plastic material comprises a frame 1 whereto two or more mould plates 2 are independently connected and wherein adjacent edges b, d, a<1> c<1> are maintained in spaced relation to provide clearances e. The plates may thus vibrate independently without the edges b d, a<1> c' coming in contact. The smaller edges a b, c d.. are bent as at q r s t, Fig. 3, to present a flat flange s t disposed at right-angles to the plate and connected to the frame by welding or riveting. The depth of the flange is less than or equal to that of the frame so that the frame may be inserted in the guide 4. The edges b d, a<1> c<1> are strengthened by rolling or by a flat beading and the corners may be reinforced by welding as at 5. Spaces 6 may be left at the ends of the frame 1 for use as handles. The frame may be formed from a bar of drawn or rolled steel of rectangular section, the ends 3 being screwed, riveted, welded or otherwise connected.
