METHOD FOR SELECTING ANTENNA IN MIMO SYSTEM

A method for selecting an antenna in a MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) system is provided to improve performance even when using the same radio frequency(RF) unit by selecting an antenna through QR decomposition considering the decoding sequence and to be adapted to a nonlinear receiver. In a method for selecting an antenna in a MIMO system, a transmitter(100) includes a transmitting processor(110) and an antenna switch(150). The transmitting processor processes an inputted bit stream to generate a transmission symbol. And the antenna switch selects a transmitting antenna through the feedback information from a receiver(200). The receiver includes an antenna switch(210), a receiving processor(250) and an antenna selector(280). The antenna switch selects a receiving antenna. The receiving processor detects the original bit stream from the received signal. And the antenna selector selects an antenna to transmit the selected antenna information to the antenna switch, and feeds back the selected antenna information to the transmitter.
