A mobile communication system for providing mobile contents by using a voice channel and an operation method thereof are provided to transmit small-capacity multimedia contents by using packet data while voice communication is performed by sharing a voice channel, thereby improving the efficiency of channel operation. A mobile communication network(110) detects a service provider number from a call connection request signal if a terminal(100) requests a call connection. The mobile communication network checks subscriber information. The mobile communication network allocates a voice channel and requests a mobile contents server(130) to search contents. The mobile contents server divides the voice channel into a voice path and a data path. The mobile contents server connects with an application server(140) to search and check voice contents through the voice path and connects a support server(160) to search and check multimedia contents through the data path. The mobile contents server mixes the voice contents and the multimedia contents. The mobile contents server transmits the mixed voice and multimedia contents to the mobile communication network through the voice channel. The mobile communication network transmits the mixed voice and multimedia contents to the terminal through a wireless voice channel. The terminal divides the inputted contents into the voice contents and the multimedia contents and outputs the voice contents and the multimedia contents respectively. |
