A fuel saving apparatus is provided to calculate an amount of consumed fuel and a fuel consumption ratio according to driving of a vehicle through the most effective method, and to display the information in real time. A fuel saving apparatus includes an effective injection time calculating unit, an injection amount calculating unit(140), a fuel consumption ratio calculating unit(150), a display unit(210), and a controller(230). The effective injection time calculating unit includes an injection signal input part(110), an injection time calculating part(120), and an effective injection time calculating part(130). The injection signal input part receives an injection valve signal. The injection time calculating part calculates an injection time by receiving the injection valve signal from the injection signal input part. The effective injection time calculating part calculates the effective injection time after calculating an injection possible time and a non-effective injection time.
