A water filter type air cleaner is provided to collect the contaminated particles easily irrespective of the size of contaminated particles by using a wet type air cleaner, maximize contact time and contact force of fine dust and other contaminants in contaminated air with cleaning water sprayed by a spray by installing a long tube, and maximize contact area of the fine dust and other contaminants in the contaminated air with cleaning water by repeatedly knocking and pulverizing the contaminants into fine pieces. In a wet type air cleaner for collecting contaminants in air by using a combination of contaminants with cleaning water, a water filter type air cleaner(100) comprises: a tube(110) of which both sides are opened, and through which contaminated air passes; a spray(120) for spraying cleaning water onto the contaminated air; and a fan(130) for inducing an air flow to suck the contaminated air and exhaust purified air. The tube has an inlet formed at one side thereof to flow in contaminated air, an outlet(114) formed at the other side thereof to exhaust purified air, a drainer(116) formed on a lower part thereof to discharge cleaning water containing the contaminants, and a stopper(119) removably formed on a bottom part thereof to clean an inner face of the tube regularly. The spray is connected to a cleaning water storage tank or a drinking water source through a pipe(122), and a nozzle(124) installed on a front side thereof to spray cleaning water. The fan includes a rotary shaft(132), a blowing blade(140), pulverizing blades(150), and a cleaning blade(160). Further, a blade for washing is additionally installed in order to rotating cleaning water by centrifugal force in the water filter type air cleaner.
