APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE SEPARATION OF PET AND PVC LABEL

An apparatus and a method for separating PVC label particles from PET label particles are provided to effectively separate the PVC label particles from THE PET label particles by controlling the flow rate of air and the amount of particles introduced into a specific gravity separator. An apparatus for separating PVC label particles from PET label particles comprises a specific gravity separator(100). The specific gravity separator includes a feeding section(110) for feeding PET particles and PVC label particles into the specific gravity separator, a specific gravity separating tube(120), and a suction unit(130) for sucking PVC label particles to be lifted up by air. Air is injected into the specific gravity separator in the direction opposite to the gravity direction. The specific gravity separator has a zigzag shape. The suction unit is driven by a vacuum pump.
