APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PLASA DISPLAY PANEL

A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) are provided to prevent a slip of the PDP during aligning and sealing processes by holding a front panel using an electrostatic force. An apparatus for manufacturing a PDP includes an upper chamber(200) and a lower chamber(300). An electrostatic chuck(210) for holding a front panel of the PDP using an electrostatic force is implemented on an inner upper portion of the upper chamber. The lower chamber is arranged to be opposed to the upper chamber. A sealing member is applied on a rear panel of the PDP. The rear panel is placed on a lower chuck(310). The lower chuck is installed in an inner lower portion of the lower chamber. The electrostatic chuck is connected to a rising and falling axis. A sealing member having a heater for fusing the sealing member is implemented inside the upper chamber around the electrostatic chuck, such that the front panel is fused on the lower panel.
