The invention relates to special electrometallurgy and can be used in production of ingots and plate slabs of commercial titanium. A unit for electron-beam remelting of sponge titanium lump comprises vacuum melt chamber, connected to it through gate valves chambers for ingot charging with mechanisms of horizontal loading, ingot chamber with extraction mechanism, electron guns, intermediate container and crystallizer. Each chamber for ingot charging is equipped at least with one pump with gate valves. In the chambers for charging sponge titanium lump induction blocks are installed, and gate valves of vacuum pumps of charging chambers and of vacuum melt chamber from the side of vacuum pumps and charging chambers are equipped with filters. The invention provides high performance reliability of vacuum system, and high metal-to-ingot yield due to excluding the operation of side surface fusion of the sponge titanium lump. |
