A termination resource management method of an MGW(Media Gateway) in a communication system and a device thereof are provided to cancel nonidentical context and termination resources by comparing contexts set between the MGW and an MGC(MG Controller) by using an MEGACO protocol, thereby preventing errors. An MGC(100) comprises as follows. A call processor(102) generates a message which demands more than a predetermined period of context inspection at preset intervals, and generates a message which demands a deletion command of a particular context according to a request of a resource manager(106). A message processor(104) decodes the generated messages to send the decoded messages to an MGW(110), and encodes a response message to extract a context list. The resource manager checks whether a context which does not exist in a context list set in the MGC exists in the extracted context list, and demands deletion of the corresponding context to the call processor.
