A shredder of tuberous roots which comprises a vertical body, completed with working elements, as well as a receiving tank, an unloading spout and a driving unit. Two shredding units of the roller type, in particular a working one and an auxiliary one, which consist of sets coupled between each other: a gear wheel – a washer, a gear wheel – a washer, ..., are provided for as the working elements. In the operational condition the units are shifted relative to each other in such a way that opposite a gear wheel of a working unit a washer of an auxiliary unit is placed, opposite the washer of the working unit a gear wheel of an auxiliary unit (and vice versa), the shredding units are connected by a belt-drive in such a manner as to allow rotating the units in one direction with the same speed of rotation but with different linear speeds of outer periphery elements (teeth of gears of the units), and to allow increasing or reducing a slot between the shredding units. |
