APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REGISTRATION OF CELL RESELECTION IN PORTABLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A service registration device through a cell reselection process in a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to perform cell reselection forcibly by modifying cell reselection parameters when service registration fails in the terminal, so as to execute again the service registration in a cell which performs the cell reselection. A service registration manager(202) obtains cell reselection parameters of a serving cell and a cell which tries to perform cell reselection, and applies a cell reselection subtraction value to a cell reselection parameter of the obtained serving cell to execute again the cell reselection process. If it is confirmed that service registration fails, a controller(200) instructs the manager to change the cell reselection parameter of the serving cell into a condition capable of executing cell reselection.
