PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjusting device having both of easiness of object selection in manual focus and sureness of focus adjustment in auto-focus, with a simple constitution without provision of another operation means in particular, and to provide an imaging apparatus provided with the focus adjusting device. SOLUTION: A defocus amount at each range-finding point is calculated by an AF controller 122 and the information of the calculated defocus amount is superimposed and displayed on a finder, when switching to a semi-focus mode is performed. A user operates a focus ring to perform the selection of the range-finding point and the focus adjustment of a focus lens 102.
