PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease degradation of a recycled toner; to prevent wax filming on a photoreceptor; to obtain high wear resistance of a cleaning blade; and to maintain preferable image characteristics for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes a developing step of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor with a toner containing wax, a transfer step of transferring the toner image developed in the developing step onto a transfer material, then cleaning step of cleaning off the toner remaining on the photoreceptor by a cleaning blade made of a rubber elastic material, and a toner recycling step of conveying the recovered toner by cleaning to the developing unit. The cleaning blade comprises a rubber layer containing inorganic fine particles in a portion to be in contact with the photoreceptor, and the rubber layer containing inorganic fine particles shows the Young's modulus of 70 to 95 kgf/cm<SP>2</SP>and a rubber hardness of 67 to 75 degrees.
