PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jet pump and a nuclear reactor capable of suppressing flow force vibration of a jet pump, and heightening an efficiency furthermore. SOLUTION: This jet pump has a nozzle, a bell mouth, a throat 12 and a diffuser 13. The diffuser 13 is arranged under the throat 12 connected to the lower end of the bell mouth. A ring member 14 is fixed to the upper end of the diffuser 13. A projection part 29 is projected to the outside on the lower end of the throat 12. A hollow 28 formed on the inner surface on the lower end of the throat 12 is extended upward from the lower end of the throat 12. The upper end of the diffuser 13 is inserted into the hollow 28. A seal member 16 is arranged between the diffuser 13 upper end and the throat 12 lower end. A cap nut 15 supported by the projection part 29 is engaged with the ring member 14, and the upper end of the diffuser 13 is pressed onto the lower end of the throat 12.
